Szalai signs for Schalke

The Royal Blues have strengthened their attacking options with the capture of Adam Szalai from Bundesliga rivals FSV Mainz. The 25-year-old Hungary international has signed a four-year-old deal to 30 June 2017 and will wear the No28 shirt.

"Adam Szalai is an outstanding striker who had a good goalscoring record at Mainz," said general manager Horst Heldt. "Last season showed we need depth in the squad with a lot of good players. A professional battle for places is important for our objectives. Adam is at a good age and has a strong character. He's eager and wants to achieve a lot with Schalke."
